Week 32

We took off for a work trip to San Diego and then vacation to Visalia for two weeks. While in San Diego, we met up with Justin and Tomoe Call, two friends who used to live in Hawaii with us. We had a lot of fun running around with them!

Our small plane landed in San Diego from LAX and we had to walk quite a ways to the actual building where we picked up our bag and met Justin and Tomoe outside.

We went to many places in San Diego with Justin and Tomoe. They took us to several beaches and up into the hills to see San Diego sprawled out below us. This first image is the beach they were married on five years ago.

Our hotel would be on the right side of this photo, just out of view. Justin took us over to Coronado Island.

Let's play "I Spy!"

Lastly, Justin and Tomoe took us to an open-air organ recital one evening. Here's a short video:

Week 31

Romney and I took off to California for a few weeks and fell behind in our posts. We'll try catching up as quickly as possible but we have a lot of photos to go through.

Before we left, we went to my nephew's birthday party. I was very lucky to have my sister, Tamryn, living here with her family for six weeks. So her oldest boy, Jayce, had his birthday here and asked Romney and me to come to his party. We got him an awesome Spider Man mask.

Also before leaving, I had a chance to eat at the Honolulu Museum of Arts with one of the donors from work, Nancy Hiraoka. Her boyfriend was there, whom I'd never met before, as well as his daughter, Katie Conners, who volunteered at the Archives. Outside, on the front lawn of the museum, was a display of structures built of wood sticks. Nancy was kind enough to let me be a kid and take a picture with my head through one of the windows.

Week 30

Romney celebrated her 30th birthday this week. Our friends, Jen and Caleb Hwang, invited us over for a barbecue dinner. Jen created her family's favorite barbecue dish that we all thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks Jen!!!
I spy little Hana in the background. Too cute!
