Week 35

While in Visalia, we all drove up to Kings Canyon National Park and then into Sequoia National Park. Romney has been up there many times with her family, but I'd never been. When we were in Visalia two Christmases ago, we were going to go, but the snow had been so bad that we decided not to risk it.  The trees were amazing.

General Sherman Tree (Largest tree in the world by volume!)

Dead Sequoia tree with the center rotted out that you can walk through.

 Standing on a big rock

General Grant Tree. (3rd largest tree in the world)

  1. I love those giant redwood trees! The wife and I stopped at Mariposa Grove, near Yosemite, on our honeymoon and saw some of them. Mother Nature sure is amazing.

  2. It was hard to comprehend how big these trees are. I think I read a sign by the General Grant three, the third largest tree, saying it would take 20 people standing hand to hand to go round the base of the trunk. Crazy!
